| Abstract | O presente trabalho apresenta uma metodologia de classifi cação de padrões do relevo da bacia do rio Itajaí-Açu (SC) por meio da análise regional de dados geomorfométricos. A escala de análise deste trabalho é compatível com o primeiro táxon do mapeamento geomorfológico preconizado pelo RADAMBRASIL (1971), aqui usado como referência para avaliação dos resultados. A partir de observações sobre o MDE e o mapeamento de referência, foram experimentadas diferentes variáveis geomorfométricas e técnicas de processamento para a classifi cação de cada padrão de relevo observado. No caso das planícies, a altura foi a variável de melhor desempenho na delimitação direta pela aplicação de um limiar máximo, embora outras variáveis (amplitude, curvatura e declividade) também apresentassem padrões singulares para esta classe de terreno. Para o mapeamento das classes de terrenos cristalinos e terrenos sedimentares fanerozóicos, foram geradas unidades de mapeamento a partir da segmentação das variáveis declividade e dissecação vertical normalizadas. A classifi cação das unidades de mapeamento foi realizada por meio de análise de agrupamento. Foram testados o agrupamento de oito diferentes variáveis geomorfométricas (atributos) e para área de estudo considerou-se a moda de intervalos de declividade como a mais satisfatória. Após a escolha do atributo, realizou-se ainda um reagrupamento dos segmentos por contiguidade espacial e posterior classifi cação por meio de um limiar de altimetria média. Os padrões classifi cados refl etiram a disposição geral de classes presentes no mapeamento RADAMBRASIL com correspondência em relação às classes mapeadas superior a 80%. ABSTRACT: This paper presents an application of SRTM data and geomorphometric derivatives on regional analysis to identify relief patterns in the Itajaí-Açu basin (SC, Brazil). The scale of this study is compatible with the fi rst taxon (morphostructural domain) present in the RABAMBRASIL geomorphological map (1971), which was used as a reference for evaluating our results. Based on visual examinations of the DEM, diff erent geomorphometric variables and image processing techniques were used to map each of the observed relief pattern. For the plain domain (fl at terrain), topographic height was the most satisfactory data to the automatic delimitation through slicing with a threshold of 13 meters, despite other variables such as elevation range, curvature and slope also suggesting good results. In the sedimentary fanerozoic and crystalline domains, mapping units were created through segmentation of slope and vertical dissection normalized data. The mapping units were classifi ed through cluster analysis. It were evaluated eight diff erent geomorphometric variables (attributes) and for the study area it were considered the clustering of modal slope intervals as satisfactory. After the attribute selection, the segments were regrouped by spatial contiguity and subsequent classifi cation by a altitude mean threshold. The correspondence between the classifi cation and the reference map (RADAMBRASIL) was superior to 80% in all classes. | |||
